This past Saturday, August 9th, 2008, my brother graduated from Auburn University.  My father (seen right) was the first person in the family to graduate from college (Sewanee '69).  My uncle was the second Brooks to graduate, followed by me in 2005, and now Alden.

A big congratulations to us all!  Especially Alden!

i made this legendary auburn residence home for a short time during my auburn days. i came into the picture being the sixth roommate taking brian koon’s spot while he interned a fall semester. the other five, or as i like to call them, the allstar team of duncan chancellor, gray brantley, john pritchard, david ytterberg, and the infamous mr. james theodore farmer III.

the UBD was my favorite out of the four different places i lived while in school. i guess it was my favorite because of the many many memories that house held.

i was in auburn this past weekend so jp and i took a stroll to the UBD and see if it actually was still there. it was. but when i walked through it, it just felt empty. it lost it’s character. it lost it’s flavor. it lost it’s soul. the 5 guys who once inhabited it together are now spread throughout the southeast. 2 in nashville, 3 in auburn, and 1 in perry, ga.

waking duncan up for mcdonalds breakfast after a late night
brotherhood & long nights in the cabin

it doesn’t take much to excite me.

for instance, my auburn license plate and my business cards came in the mail today.

i was giddy all day.

larry henry: a celebration of man.

the dude smokes cigars all the time. his sentences are constantly laced with “frickin” or “friggin.” he’s irrerevrent and untameable. he’s plays a mean game of golf. he considers listening to audiobooks “reading.” according to him he reads close to a book a week. he’s an auburn grad. he doesn’t hold back and tells you what he’s thinking. he’s a closet metrosexual. cross him or stand him up and you won’t hear the end of it. the dude cracks me up. he’s a member or Run Club USA, the best run club on the planet we inhabit. here he is after sinking a 30 ft. birdie put like it’s his job.

straight reppin’ the ubd at the uga game, ya heard? i haven’t been to a better game since my freshman year when we beat florida and sent spurrier to the nfl with his tail tucked between his legs.
