flat world

i finally finished this book. it took me forefrickinever to read. it was a really good book and i recommend it to everyone.

here are some interesting facts that i learned: "no two countries that both had McDonald's had ever fought a war against each other since each got its McDonald's." "in 2003, some 25,000 US tax returns were done in India. in 2004, it was 100,000. in 2005 it's expected to be 400,000."

having global supply chains prevents war because the US will take away factories in india and china and elsewhere. and that means we could almost bankrupt a whole country. that's pretty cool. we need to have more math and science initiatives in schools and universities.
